"Over the ten or twelve years that Raymond Handling Concepts had been located at the Auburn, Washington facility on West Valley Highway, much growth and many changes had occurred organizationally such that a substantial upgrade of the office layout and furnishings was required. Being “experts in materials handling” does not qualify us to do a good job translating our particular expertise into the presentation of our offices. So, we decided to get some help from Cheryl Clare and The Inside Job. By understanding RHCC and our tagline, “It’s not just business. It’s personal.” Cheryl could see that we needed more than just the cold, sterile look of “product art” and office cubicles. She and a professional photographer staged close-up photos of different aspects of our Raymond forklifts from many angles in black and white. Then, she mounted them with white matting and clean, black frames that gave the space a modern, innovative, and forward moving look...just like the company. At the main entrance, one of the most striking photos—an oversized picture of a key switch with the Raymond logo on it—gives the viewer a visual reminder that “Raymond is the key.” In order to also show the warm, family-friendly and home-like side of the company, she made sure that the personal office spaces had calming, artwork with subtle color, faux greenery, and candy jars in all the public areas to add a feeling of ‘welcome’. Mirrors, artwork, and scents were added to the bathrooms and dining areas to make those areas more inviting, relaxing, and motivating. The entire experience was very positive and collaborative and the finished space gives the impression of the perfect combination of business expertise and commitment to strong personal relationships that truly characterize Raymond Handling Concepts."
